The hidden face of smoked tea: health risks?

Smoked tea, with its barbecue aroma and whisky-like flavor, offers a unique sensory experience. However, some French establishments are reluctant to offer it, fearing health risks. Scientific studies show that smoked tea presents no major health hazard, containing fewer polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) than grilled meats. Although the risk is low, it is important to remain cautious, as current research covers only a fraction of PAHs and lacks data on toxicological effects. Despite these controversies, smoked tea continues to charm those in search of new flavors.
